Very early in the morning around midnight, we begin our trek pushing to the summit. This is the most mentally and physically challenging portion of the entire trek. It is windy and cold at this elevation, weather, and time of day can be extreme. We will ascend in the darkness for several hours while taking frequent short breaks. Near Stella Point, 5,760 metres/18,900ft, you will be rewarded with the most beautiful sunrise in the world that comes over Mawenzi Peak. Finally, we arrive at UHURU PEAK - the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro and Africa. 5,895 metres/19,341 ft. Uhuru means ''freedom'' in Swahili.

From the summit, now we make our descent continuing straight down to Mweka Hut Camp, we will stop at Barafu for lunch. The trail is very rocky and can be quite hard on the knees; trekking poles are helpful.  Mweka Camp is situated in the mist forest, in this area it can be raining sometimes. Later in the evening, we will enjoy our last dinner on Mount Kilimanjaro and we will go to sleep.
